Career Coaching & Career Development Planning

Career coaching & career development planningIs your career important to you?

Are you concerned with the way your career is going, with your work performance, or are you just not sure which career direction is best for you personally and professionally?

Don’t just struggle on – you may be wasting valuable years if you’re moving in the wrong direction or standing still rather than progressing your career.

Our career consultancy employs experienced business coaches who specialise in individual career planning and development.

We offer:

The career consultancy provides a variety of services including vocational assessment, career coaching and counselling for all age groups as well as general business coaching
  • Assistance, coaching and mentoring to improve work performance.
  • Career coaching and vocational assessment to assist with career transition and career management.

Whether you are just completing your education, have recently entered the workforce or have been working for many years – if you’re not satisfied with or unsure about your career pathway, we would be happy to help you get (back) on the right track.

This is how we work:

We help you answer questions such as:

  • How do I develop the skills I need?
  • My job could disappear, where would I go next?
  • How do I decide on a career change?
  • Should I go into self-employment and if so, when?
  • How do I start and run a business?
  • What do I want from my career? What are my career values and goals?

What can you expect to happen if you engage a WBL career coach? Generally, we would look at your talents and take an inventory of your skills, aptitudes, interests and personal styles – using a range of questionnaires and profiling tools. We help you understand more about yourself, your current work/study situation and the potential work opportunities there are for you.

This process clarifies career pathways and options that may suit you best. We then discuss a strategy towards specific career goals and recommend careers and pathways that are most likely to provide you the most satisfaction.

How much time is involved?

Career coaching usually takes 3 or 4 sessions of one hour, spaced over a period of time to suit you.

What kind of testing is used?

First we assess your current situation asking where you are and where you want to be. We then use a range of questionnaires and profiling tools to shed light on your values, attitudes, skill sets and personal style.

You can complete some of the questionnaires in your own time so you can take however long you need to properly consider and frame your answers.

Our Experience Includes:

  • Young people who are completing school and are unsure about which steps to take towards further study and possible work.
  • Clients who are at the crossroads of education and work and are unclear of which direction they should be looking for career satisfaction.
  • Clients who have been in the workforce for some years and for a variety of reasons find that they are not comfortable with the career pathway or organisation they are with.
  • Clients requiring career development  which consists of an in-depth analysis.
